About Idukki Police

    We a strong Police Force of  approximately 1985 men, serve a population of over 11,08,974 of Idukki district of Kerala state, India. The population span across 2 muncipal town, 5 taluks and 66 villages, over an area of 4356 square kilometers with an average population density of 255 per square kilometer. We investigate about 20,000 cases for year.

Our Motto

    The motto of the force is a Sanskrit verse "Mridhu Bhave Dhrida Kruthye" which means "Soft in Temperament, Firm in Action"

Vision and Mission

    As the part of Kerala Police Department, we are committed to providing highest quality of police services to the people.  We will constantly evaluate and improve our efforts to enhance public safety and maintain law & order  respecting  citizen's rights and uplifting dignity.

    The duty of police is to help secure the society in which the rights and responsibilities of individuals, families and communities are properly balanced.

     The main objectives of the police are to

  • Ensure  safety and reduce disorders,
  • Reduce crime and the fear of crime
  • Contribute to delivery of justice, which secures and maintains public confidence in the rule of law
